About Dr Dean Townsend
After graduating from the University of Queensland in 1992, Dr Dean Townsend went on to work as an intern and become a Junior House Officer at the Royal Brisbane Hospital until 1994. In 1996 he moved into anatomical pathology at QHPS (Royal Brisbane Hospital campus). During this time he worked at the Prince Charles Hospital Laboratory and the John Tonge Centre (Institute of Forensic Pathology). In 2003 Dean was appointed as the Supervising Pathologist of the QML Pathology Ipswich, Stanthorpe and Toowoomba Laboratories. During this time Dean provided pathology reports covering all areas of anatomical pathology with a dedication of providing personalised dermatopathology services for the general practitioners of South Western Queensland. Dean has always maintained a strong interest in dermatopathology and looks forward in progressing this now with IQ Pathology.
